Sony PlayStation held its third State of Play showcase of 2025, giving players a closer look at upcoming PS5 titles, remasters of beloved classics, and a number of surprise announcements. It wrapped up with the reveal of a highly anticipated exclusive from Insomniac Games. Here’s the complete recap of everything announced at the State of Play September 2025.

Saros gameplay reveal trailer

Housemarque opened the show with Saros, offering an extended look at gameplay that heavily evokes Returnal with its sci-fi setting and time loop mechanics. The game stars Arjun Devraj, who finds himself on a shifting planet called Carcosa.

The sun plays a central role in the narrative, with a mysterious line stating: “Every time the sun dies, time stretches and tears.” Weapons also seem to function through eclipses.

We also saw Devraj’s abilities, including a defensive shield that absorbs projectiles and a “second chance” feature that revives him after his first death. Cinematic sequences teased Carcosa’s past, and the trailer ended with the glimpse of a towering boss fight.

Saros launches March 20, 2026, with enhancements planned for PS5 Pro.

Zero Parades: For Dead Spies revealed

Next up was Zero Parades – For Dead Spies, a narrative-driven espionage RPG steeped in paranoia, betrayal, and survival. Players step into the role of Hershel, a skilled but broken agent navigating a world where trust is scarce and danger is everywhere.

The game draws comparisons to Disco Elysium but introduces new elements such as dramatic confrontations and scenario simulations. Zero Parades is set to release on PS5 in 2026.

Microsoft Flight Simulator officially coming to PS5

After months of rumors, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 was finally confirmed for PS5, ending its exclusivity to Xbox and PC. The game launches December 8, 2025, with PS VR2 support planned for a later date.

Battlefield 6 campaign trailer

EA revealed a new trailer for Battlefield 6’s campaign, further building momentum ahead of its October 10 launch on PS5. The footage gave players a glimpse of the narrative setup alongside explosive gameplay moments.

Deus Ex remaster announced

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the legendary immersive sim Deus Ex is receiving a full remaster by Aspyr. The updated edition features modernized controls, enhanced lighting and shadows, redesigned character models, and synced dialogue, while still staying true to the original experience.

It launches February 5, 2026.

John Carpenter’s Halloween game revealed

Horror fans got a surprise with the reveal of a new Halloween game, based on John Carpenter’s iconic slasher film. It offers a 1v4 multiplayer format in the vein of Friday the 13th: The Game, Predator Hunting Grounds, and Killer Klowns, with a single-player option confirmed as well.

Halloween launches September 8, 2026.

Last Epoch expansion Oryboss announced

Krafton’s newly acquired ARPG Last Epoch was confirmed for PS5, arriving alongside its first major expansion, Oryboss. The update introduces deeper skill customization, a richer loot system, and all seasonal content to date.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin trailer

Anime fans got a fresh look at The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, a free-to-play open-world RPG arriving January 28, 2026. Players follow Tristan on a journey across Britannia with real-time combat, hidden secrets, and familiar faces from the beloved series.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds expansion revealed

Ahead of the game’s PS4 and PS5 launch, Sega unveiled a Mega Man crossover for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The expansion adds Mega Man and Proto Man as playable racers along with a new track based on Dr. Wily’s Castle.

It arrives sometime in 2026.

Nioh 3 release date confirmed

Team Ninja officially announced Nioh 3, set for release on PS5 on February 6, 2026. The action RPG continues the saga with Tokugawa Takechiyo facing his brother across time.

Dynasty Warriors 3 remaster

The 2001 classic Dynasty Warriors 3 is being remade in Unreal Engine 5 as Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered, including the Xtreme Legends expansion. It launches March 19, 2026, on PS5.

CodeVein 2 release date

Bandai Namco confirmed CodeVein 2 will launch January 30, 2026. The action RPG continues the anime-inspired world, with players teaming up with the mysterious Lou, who wields powers over time.

Let It Die: Inferno announced

Grasshopper Manufacture unveiled Let It Die: Inferno, a new installment in its eccentric roguelike series. Mixing melee combat, rogue-lite mechanics, and PvPvE gameplay, the game challenges players to survive hellish raids and escape alive with their loot.

It launches December 3, 2025.

Crimson Desert trailer and release date

The long-awaited open-world action RPG Crimson Desert will release March 19, 2026. A new story trailer focused on protagonist Kliff, who rallies allies to face a looming evil in the continent of Pywel.

Chronoscript: The Endless End revealed

Chronoscript: The Endless End is a 2D action-adventure that blends exploration of a 3D writer’s mansion with hand-drawn 2D manuscript levels. The story follows an editor trapped in an unfinished novel, forced to write its ending.

It launches in 2026.

Gran Turismo 7 major update

Instead of a new sequel, Polyphony Digital revealed the biggest update yet for Gran Turismo 7. It includes two new tracks—one set at Yas Marina Circuit in the UAE—plus eight new vehicles and further features, marking the game’s largest expansion since launch.

October 2025 PS Plus lineup

The game is targeting a Fall 2026 release, with a major new showcase planned for Spring 2026.
