Recent leaks have revealed exciting details about the highly anticipated AC Black Flag Remake from Ubisoft, aiming to revive one of the franchise’s most beloved entries with modern upgrades and expanded content.
Extra Content Coming to AC Black Flag Remake According to Leaks
According to a video shared by Jeux Vidéo Magazine on YouTube, one of the most notable changes is the complete removal of the modern-day storyline. Instead, players will get several extra hours of content entirely set in the Golden Age of Piracy with Edward Kenway, offering a deeper dive into the Caribbean world.
The game will adopt a more RPG-inspired structure, similar to the latest Assassin’s Creed titles. This includes systems such as loot, gear upgrades, inventory management, and more fluid combat mechanics that lean towards RPG design rather than the cinematic style of the 2013 original.
One of the biggest technical upgrades is seamless transitions between land and sea without loading screens, making exploration more immersive and realistic. While the map itself won’t be significantly larger than the original, the islands will feature more activities, side quests, and even restored content that was cut from the 2013 version—such as story segments involving Mary Read.
On the technical side, the remake is being developed using the modern Anvil Pipeline engine, the same one powering Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Ubisoft is also reusing select assets from Skull & Bones to optimize costs, though players are unlikely to notice these reused elements.
Reports suggest that Ubisoft is targeting an early 2026 release window, possibly March, though a delay toward the end of the same year remains possible. While the remake might not reach the scale of projects like Resident Evil 2 Remake or Silent Hill 2 Remake, it is being described as a faithful reimagining with meaningful updates to meet modern gaming standards.
It’s worth noting that none of this information has been officially confirmed by Ubisoft yet.
