Amid growing reports and rumors about a remastered version in development, a fresh hint has emerged pointing to the upcoming release and possible reveal of the Assassins Creed Black Flag Remake.
Assassins Creed Black Flag Remake hinted again
At a recent event, Matt Ryan—the voice actor behind protagonist Edward Kenway in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag—was interacting with fans when he dropped a cryptic remark. After asking one fan whether they had completed Black Flag, and receiving a “yes,” Ryan responded with a knowing smile:
“Have you beat the game?… well you may have to beat it again.. There’s a reason I say that but I can’t say anything…”
This seemingly casual remark is now being widely interpreted as a strong indication that Ryan is involved in the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake. His role could involve re-recording original dialogue at higher quality, or even performing newly written lines for Edward Kenway. If the latter proves true, it could mean the game will include additional dialogues for other characters as well—possibly expanding the story or reworking character arcs to better suit the current generation of players.
With Assassin’s Creed Shadows launching earlier in 2025, it is unlikely that Black Flag Remake will release this same year. However, an official announcement is expected sometime later in 2025, with the full launch slated for 2026.
