Insomniac Games, in collaboration with PlayStation Studios and Oh Bibi, has officially announced a brand-new entry in the Ratchet & Clank series titled Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble. The game is completely free and coming soon to both iOS and Android devices.
This marks the official reveal of a co-op Ratchet & Clank game, introducing the series’ first-ever multiplayer experience designed specifically for mobile.
Ratchet & Clank’s Co-Op Mobile Game Revealed
Ranger Rumble brings multiplayer gameplay to the franchise for the first time on smartphones, following a quiet period since 2023, when the last update for the series was the PC release of Rift Apart.
The game features fast-paced arena combat where players can equip explosive weapons and choose from iconic characters across the series.
Players can team up in co-op battles or compete in solo online matches, with each hero offering enhanced abilities tailored for dynamic, high-energy gameplay.
The reveal trailer, shown above, provides a first look at the action. It showcases familiar weapons and stages beloved by long-time fans, along with signature movement abilities such as jumping, sliding, spinning, gliding, dashing, wall-running, and several other traversal techniques the franchise is known for.
Beyond the core announcement, the developers confirmed that the game includes weapon upgrades and multiple game modes such as Blast Ball and Bolt Rush, ensuring a varied and challenge-driven experience.
Designed to Capture the Classic Ratchet & Clank Spirit
According to the development team, Ranger Rumble aims to deliver the series’ trademark energy, humor, and chaotic fun, but reimagined for mobile platforms.
Players can now pre-register through the official website to secure early access once the game launches. However, an official release date has not yet been announced.
