Stellar Blade has been one of the biggest success stories in gaming since its launch on PS5 in 2024, quickly establishing itself as one of the industry’s standout new IPs. As the game continues expanding to additional platforms, it appears that the long-rumored Stellar Blade Xbox release is now closer than ever, according to recent comments from key members of the development team.
The action title has sold more than six million copies across PS5 and PC, helping developer Shift Up achieve record-breaking financial results. The game has also received widespread praise from critics and players alike, thanks to its fluid combat system and fast-paced battles, which have become some of its defining strengths.
Until now, Stellar Blade has only been available on PS5 and PC. However, the publisher recently announced a version for Nintendo Switch 2, reigniting speculation about a potential Xbox release. Those questions have now received what many consider the closest thing to an official confirmation.
Stellar Blade Xbox Release Addressed by Shift Up
Nothing is impossible, we just need time.

Edward Akobkan, Head of Publishing at Shift Up, revealed through a post on X that the game is indeed heading to Xbox platforms. However, he noted that the development team still needs additional time before sharing further details or announcing an official release date.
The comments came in response to a fan asking whether a Stellar Blade Xbox release was possible. Akobkan explained that nothing is off the table at the moment, especially now that Shift Up has transitioned to self-publishing rather than relying on external publishing partners such as Sony.
Many industry observers believe this shift gives the studio significantly more freedom when it comes to launching its games across multiple platforms, which helps explain the current strategy of expanding Stellar Blade beyond the PlayStation ecosystem.
Despite the excitement surrounding the news, the comments suggest that Xbox players may still need to wait a little longer. Several developers have previously highlighted technical challenges related to developing for Xbox Series S during this generation, which may partially explain why an official announcement has not yet been made.
Following Stellar Blade’s strong performance on PC after its recent release, analysts expect the game to benefit greatly from reaching the Xbox audience as well. There is also growing speculation that a future sequel could launch simultaneously across multiple platforms, particularly as Shift Up continues to pursue its self-publishing strategy and global expansion plans.
Given these developments, the prospect of a Stellar Blade Xbox release no longer feels like a mere rumor or community request. Instead, it appears to be an expected next step that could receive official confirmation in the near future.
